About the Artist

Kate Bigley is a visual artist based on the Wirral, working across drawing, painting, and installation. Her practice is deeply rooted in an exploration of line and space, themes that recur throughout her work. For Kate, the act of making is also a form of mindfulness—an opportunity to slow down, observe, and connect. She thrives on the challenge of using line to convey the character and narrative of a live subject. Through installation, Kate is able to take drawing into the 3D realm, utilizing architecture and structural elements to reimagine and reshape a space.

Kate studied Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating with First Class Honours in 2019. Since then, she has exhibited in galleries, participated in art auctions, and showcased her work at makers markets across Wirral and Liverpool.

Currently, Kate is based at Wellington Road Art Studios in Oxton, Wirral, where she works alongside a community of established and accomplished artists. She has participated in the Wirral Open Studio Tour in both 2024 and 2025, and looks forward to hopefully taking part again in 2026.
